I am very happy to announce that three Ming Hsieh EE Faculty will be honored with Mellon Awards for Excellence in Mentoring. Krishna Nayak and Bhaskar Krishnamachari will be honored in the category "Faculty to Graduate Mentoring," and Ubli Mitra will be honored in the category "Faculty to Faculty Mentoring."

The awards are made by the USC Center for Excellence in Teaching, Office of the Provost, and will be conferred at the Annual Mellon Mentoring Honors Reception on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. In addition, Viterbi School faculty members Ron Blackwelder, of the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, was honored in the category "Faculty to Undergraduate Mentoring," and Stefan Schaal, of the Department of Computer Science, was honored in the category "Faculty to Graduate Mentoring."
