Mark has had a very significant role as instructor and course developer for several of our required EE and CE/CS undergraduate courses. He has been a leader in developing new course content for Freshman and Sophomore students as well as upper-level undergraduate capstone design courses. He is one of the top-ranked instructors in our department; his enthusiasm and ability to motivate and inspire students are greatly beneficial to our academic goals. He recently received the 2010 USC Viterbi School Northrop-Grumman Excellence in Teaching Award as an important recognition of his exceptional teaching skill.
He has also provided great department service as a course monitor, as a member of EE and EE/CS curriculum committees, as an organizer of student recruiting and retention activities, and as faculty advisor to the student chapter of IEEE. He was the EE-Systems faculty leader in collecting, analyzing and preparing materials for the recent ABET accreditation.
