I am very pleased to announce that Rahul Jain will join our Ming Hsieh Electrical Engineering faculty in August 2008 as Assistant Professor.
He is currently a member of the research staff at the Mathematical Sciences Division of the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY. He received his Ph.D. in EECS in December 2004, and an M.A. in Statistics in May 2002, both from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received an M.S. in ECE from Rice University in 1999 where he was a recipient of the Texas Instruments Fellowship. He completed his undergraduate work with a B.Tech in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1997, where he won the TCS Best B.Tech Project Award. He is an elected member of the Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) honor society and a recipient of an IBM Invention Achievement Award.
His research interests lie in networks and control with current focus on network economics and games, and stochastic control and learning. He is a contributing member of many professional societies including IEEE, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).
